Dancing with the Stars cast: Danny Amendola, Dwight Howard, Ilona Maher highlight Season 33 dancers
Dancing with the Stars is set to return for its 33rd season on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The marquee show on ABC's network aired its first season in June 2005 and has continued strong since. Fans always enjoy the opportunity to watch their favorite actors, actresses, athletes, influencers and public figures put their dance skills to the test, and this season's cast has no shortage of star power.
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will continue to co-host the show, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return as judges.

What athletes are on Dancing with the Stars?
Danny Amendola, Former NFL player
Amendola is a 38-year-old former NFL player who won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. He also played for the then-St. Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans.
Amendola collected 617 receptions, 6,212 receiving yards and 24 receiving touchdowns over 13 NFL seasons. He retired after the 2021 season.
Dwight Howard, Former NBA player
Howard is a 38-year-old former NBA player who won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is an eight-time All-Star who made eight All-NBA teams and won three Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Howard averaged 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game over his 18-year career. He led the league in rebounds five times and blocks two times.
He has not officially retired from the NBA or basketball, currently playing overseas in Asia.

Ilona Maher, Olympic rugby player
Maher is a 28-year-old Olympic rugby player who made headlines at the 2024 Paris Games this summer. She played a key role on the United States rugby sevens team that captured bronze at the Olympics.
Maher drew Derrick Henry and Marshawn Lynch comparisons with a particular run that went viral.
Stephen Nedoroscik, Olympic gymnast
Nedoroscik is a 25-year-old Olympic gymnast who was another breakout star from the 2024 Paris Games. Nedoroscik won a bronze medal for Team USA in the men's artistic team all-around and pommel horse competitions.
