Texans vs. Bears DFS Picks: Best DraftKings, FanDuel lineups and props for SNF primetime showdown
The future is bright in the NFL and quarterbacks C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams are two of the biggest reasons. The 2023 Rookie of the Year and 2024 No. 1 pick will square off this weekend in a can't-miss Sunday Night Football showdown.
You certainly won't have any shortage of talent to sift through while roster-building. Stroud and Williams each have an embarrassment of offensive riches around them, highlighted by Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell in Houston and DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and D'Andre Swift for Chicago.
MORE: Top DFS sleepers and value picks for NFL Week 2
Everyone knows the big names, but the key to building an ideal DFS showdown or single-game roster is to get the most bang for your buck. With savvy Captain/MVP picks, sleeper flex plays, and contrarian strategies, our primary objective is to separate our lineups from the daily fantasy pack.
Keep reading to check out our optimal lineups for the Texans vs. Bears in DFS showdown and single-game contests on DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft.
Texans vs. Bears NFL DFS picks: Optimal DraftKings lineup
Before we get into our lineup and strategy, here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They're full-point PPR, and they feature three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player's original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.
POSITION | PLAYER | TEAM/OPPONENT | SALARY |
Captain | DJ Moore, WR | Bears at Texans | $13,500 |
FLEX | Joe Mixon, RB | Texans vs. Bears | $10,200 |
FLEX | C.J. Stroud, QB | Texans vs. Bears | $9,800 |
FLEX | Tank Dell, WR | Texans vs. Bears | $7,400 |
FLEX | Cole Kmet, TE | Bears at Texans | $5,000 |
FLEX | Houston D/ST | Texans vs. Bears | $4,000 |
Captain: DJ Moore, WR, Bears at Texans ($13,500)
While I officially have the Texans beating the Bears at home in this game, I also think DJ Moore will be the top-performing skill-position player. Veteran Keenan Allen (heel) and rookie Rome Odunze (knee) are both banged up, so Caleb Williams will need to go to his best weapon early and often for the rebuilt Bears to compete.
Moore saw eight targets in the opening week, hauling in five for 36 yards. He also rushed for 14 yards on an end-around. Look for Matt Eberflus and Shane Waldron to do whatever they can to scheme their talented wideout into even more touches this weekend against a Texans squad that just beat Indy 29-27 last week. There's Captain value just in the fact that Moore will have little competition for touches.

FLEX: Joe Mixon, RB, Texans vs. Bears ($10,200)
Mixon went bananas in Week 1 against the Colts, rushing for 129 yards and a touchdown on an insane 30 carries. He also caught 3-of-3 targets for 19 yards, totaling 29.8 DK points on the day.
Chicago, meanwhile, allowed the Titans to rush for 140 yards and a TD last week, with Tony Pollard averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Fire Mixon up in showdown and single-game contests this weekend.
FLEX 2: C.J. Stroud, QB, Texans vs. Bears ($9,800)
The 2023 Rookie of the Year had a bumpy start to his '24 campaign, but he wound up looking just as impressive as he did throughout his fantastic debut season in the NFL. Of particular note was the obvious chemistry Stroud has formed with former All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs, who Stroud connected with on two touchdown strikes. Expect the Bears to sell out to stop Diggs, opening the door for other Texans receivers like Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

FLEX 3: Tank Dell, WR, Texans vs. Bears ($7,400)
Dell had a fairly quiet Week 1, catching just 3-of-7 targets for 40 yards and adding 19 yards on the ground. He's a big bounce-back candidate, though, as the aforementioned Diggs should be blanketed by stud cornerback Jaylon Johnson and Nico Collins has been listed as questionable with an illness. Stroud has a great rapport with Dell, who can explode for a big play at a moment's notice. Hit 'em with the Tank.
FLEX 4: Cole Kmet, TE, Bears at Texans ($5,000)
This just feels like a solid, safe play with Allen and Odunze both nicked up. Kmet is a high-floor pass-catching tight end with red-zone upside, and he plummeted down from a $6,400 DK price tag last week after Williams peppered his top four wideouts with 25 of his 29 targets. With two of those four receivers either out or limited this weekend, Kmet makes for a sage investment at a discount of $5,000.
FLEX 5: Houston D/ST vs. Bears ($4,000)
Rookies are gonna be rookies. Stroud's sparkling debut season was a statistical anomaly because even some of the best QBs of all time endured terrible stretches during their rookie seasons. Williams is going to be very good, but he's going to need to adjust to life in the pros.
It's difficult, for instance, for a QB who scored 27 times on the ground in college to ditch the scramble mentality at the pro level. Houston's defense is better than a lot of people realize and should capitalize on the rookie QB by racking up some sacks and forcing a turnover or two. This feels like a bargain price, leaving us satisfied as we left only $100 on the table after building a balanced lineup.
Texans vs. Bears NFL DFS picks: Optimal FanDuel lineup
Here are the key scoring settings for FanDuel single-game tournaments: They're half-point PPR with three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, or 100 receiving yards. The MVP pick multiplies that player's total by 1.5 but does not cost 1.5 times their listed salary.
POSITION | PLAYER | TEAM/OPPONENT | SALARY |
MVP | Joe Mixon, RB | Texans vs. Bears | $14,500 |
FLEX | C.J. Stroud, QB | Texans vs. Bears | $16,000 |
FLEX | DJ Moore, WR | Bears at Texans | $12,000 |
FLEX | Cole Kmet, TE | Bears at Texans | $9,500 |
FLEX | Gerald Everett, TE | Bears at Texans | $8,000 |
Mixon's massive Week 1 usage made it impossible to avoid him at our MVP spot, as we don't have to spend up to get the 1.5-times boost in FanDuel. The Bears surrendered the 14th-most FD points to RBs last week, so this feels like a solid play.
The rest of our lineup remains remarkably similar to our DK build, but we decided to double up on the Bears' tight ends at the back end of our lineup. This makes it feel like a TE monopoly — if either Kmet or Everett grabs a TD, it's a successful stars-and-scrubs roster construction.
Texans vs. Bears NFL DFS picks: Optimal SuperDraft lineup
For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft's DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.
Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests: Half-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, and two-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing yards. SuperDraft lineups feature no D/ST position. The "Champ" position adds a 50-percent boost to the selected player, while the SuperFlex positions are limited to the boost listed for each player.
POSITION | PLAYER | GAME | BOOST |
CHAMP | Joe Mixon, RB | Texans vs. Bears | 1.5x |
SFLEX | C.J. Stroud, QB | Texans vs. Bears | 1.65x |
SFLEX | DJ Moore, WR | Bears at Texans | 1.75x |
SFLEX | Caleb Williams, QB | Bears at Texans | 1.8x |
SFLEX | Cole Kmet, TE | Bears at Texans | 2.8x |
MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft
We employed a similar balanced-roster strategy with SuperDraft, putting our heaviest hitter in the Champ boost spot, drafting the high-ceiling trio of Stroud, Moore, and Williams, and topping the lineup off with a high-floor sleeper in Kmet with his 2.8-times boost.
The majority of casual DFS drafters will opt for Diggs and/or Collins here, but we're not chasing the points or flirting with someone questionable for such low boosts (1.65x and 1.6x, respectively).
