Packers linked to former Steelers veteran to fill 'biggest weakness'
The Green Bay Packers are coming off a very solid Week 2 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Green Bay entered the clash with low expectations, with Jordan Love sidelined due to a knee injury. Malik Willis got the call to start the Week 2 clash with the Colts and came away victorious, with Green Bay winning 16-10.
The Packers had a fantastic game plan and focused on the run in the game, and it helped put them over the top. Green Bay is now 1-1 on the young season and could use a boost. Bleacher Report's scouting department put together a list of the best way to fill each team's biggest weakness and mentioned veteran lineman Mason Cole as a fit.
"Add Now: IOL Mason Cole," Bleacher Report said. "The interior of the Packers offensive line lacks experience and depth, as rookies Jordan Morgan and Jacob Monk were listed on the depth chart as the team's two backup options. Cole is average, but his 73 starts and six years in the league would at least give the offense a veteran to turn to in a pinch."
Cole is a six-year National Football League veteran who has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the 2023 season with Pittsburgh and started all 17 games for the team. He still is available and could be at least worth a flier if the Packers want to add more depth to the offensive line.
If the Packers are going to run the football as much as they did on Sunday, it could be worth investing in more offensive line depth, and Cole should be atop their wish list in free agency.
