The New York Knicks hired Tyler Murray as the team’s new radio play-by-play voice, MSG Network announced Thursday.

Murray replaces Ed Cohen, who only did a few games last season for undisclosed reasons. Pat O’Keefe was the team’s play-by-play radio announcer for most of the season.

Monica McNutt will remain the regular-game analyst with Alan Hahn and Wally Szczerbiak rotating in when scheduling issues arise.

ESPN New York is still the home for Knicks games on the radio, but it has switched its place on the dial moving from 98.7 FM to 880 AM.

Murray, 34, is from Riverside, Conn., and grew up a Knicks fan. He is currently the Triple-A voice of the Worcester Red Sox.

The Knicks’ radio position is historically a very prestigious one with Marty Glickman, Marv Albert and Mike Breen, among those who have had the mic.
