Denver Broncos have to be close to out of patience with former third-round pick

The Denver Broncos have been able to have a healthy Greg Dulcich in the lineup this year and that in itself has been a victory. The former third-round pick has missed more games than he has played in his career and now that he's available, things should be looking up.

But that hasn't been the case.

Dulcich has been targeted 11 times in the passing game in the first two games of the season. He has five catches for 28 yards. But what has stood out more than any of that has been dropped passes.

During Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dulcich had two drops on passes that were right in his hands. His injury history aside, one has to wonder if this is the most effective player the Broncos have at the tight end position.

Dulcich is not a blocking tight end and he's proving to be average, at best, as a receiving option. The Broncos have other options that need to be looked at.

Lucas Krull, Donald Parham should get a look soon

The Broncos can't afford to have a tight end who doesn't block and isn't making plays in the passing game for long. In fact, you could argue that a change should happen as soon as Week 3.

Lucas Krull has been a healthy scratch in each of the first two games. Donald Parham is on the practice squad, but he is a huge target who might be able to at least use his size to give Bo Nix a big target to throw to.

Both of those players should be considered for at least some kind of workload. Dulcich doesn't need to be inactive or anything of that nature, at least not yet, but the Broncos need to get more out of this position, especially when the wide receiver position is about as bad as any in the league.
