When the Detroit Lions revealed their list of inactives ahead of the Week 2 game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the biggest surprise on it was 2024 second-round pick and cornerback, Ennis Rakestraw Jr.

It was a surprise because Rakestraw wasn't listed on the injury report during the week and was fully expected to suit up after making his debut in Week 1. At the time, we figured it was for special teams purposes, but head coach Dan Campbell revealed Rakestraw was inactive for a different reason.

As it turns out, Rakestraw suffered an injury during pre-game warmups that led to the Lions making him inactive. Campbell noted that it's a hamstring injury but did not say if it was a serious issue or not.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is not believed to have suffered a long-term injury, per Dan Campbell.

Rakestraw saw limited action in the Week 1 game, which was to be expected with his being a backup. The Missouri product saw three snaps on defense and 11 on special teams in his NFL debut.

We'll see if the Lions provide an injury update on Rakestraw when Campbell takes the lectern to address the media on Monday. If he misses time, Kindle Vildor and Khalil Dorsey will get a bump up the depth chart.
