Splinter Cell Animated Series Trailer Reveals First Look at Liev Schreiber's Sam Fisher
Netflix has yet to announce a release date.
Netflix has revealed the first trailer for its long-in-development animated Splinter Cell show, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
The trailer, along with confirmation of its full title, arrived as part of Netflix Geeked Week 2024 Live today. It’s our first full look at how the show will bring Ubisoft’s classic stealth series to the streaming giant’s subscribers. The brief video shows stealth legend, Sam Fisher, sinking to the bottom of a body of water along with his iconic night vision goggles. Although no release date has been revealed yet, you can take a look at the trailer below for yourself.

It’s currently unclear how Splinter Cell: Deathwatch fits into the video game franchise’s wider universe, but Netflix has at least revealed that Ray Donovan, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Spotlight actor Liev Schreiber has been picked to play Sam himself. While today’s trailer reveals our best look at Netflix’s animated video game spinoff yet, the streamer had previously shown off its art style in June 2021. The series was originally announced (without a title) in 2020.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is co-directed by Guillaume Dousse (Love, Death & Robots, Myosis) and Félicien Colmet-Daage (The Summit of the Gods), with John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad tapped as head writer. Animation studios Sun Creature and Fost handled the project along with executive producers Kolstad, Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Ubisoft Film & Television’s Gerard Guillemot.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch will join Netflix’s growing list of animated video game shows when it eventually premieres. In addition to already released series, such as the streaming giant’s two Castlevania shows and Arcane, it’s also working on projects based on Beyond Good & Evil, Assassin’s Creed, and Devil May Cry. While Splinter Cell sneaks its way into the world of television, the gaming series hasn’t seen a brand-new, mainline entry for more than a decade. However, Ubisoft has revealed that a remake of the original Splinter Cell is in the works. As Netflix Geeked Week 2024 rolls on, you can see everything Netflix has announced so far.
