What did DJ Moore say about Caleb Williams? Bears star denies trash-talking rookie QB after frustrating loss
There have been few wide receivers to go through as many quarterbacks as DJ Moore. Between his time in Carolina and now in Chicago, it's been a rotating cast of characters throwing him the ball on offense.
So far, the chemistry between Moore and his latest quarterback, Caleb Williams, is off to a rocky start.
The No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft hasn't had his game translate nearly as smoothly as some anticipated. Through two games, Williams has yet to find the end zone, is completing just over 50% of his passes and has been picked off twice. Those frustrations on offense were evident Sunday night in Houston, as Williams, Moore and Co. fell to the Texans 19-13 in prime-time.
During the contest, Moore appeared to say something to Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, and the sleuths online were trying to decipher what was said by the wide receiver.

So what did Moore say? Here's what he said on the matter.
What did DJ Moore say about Caleb Williams?
During the Bears' loss to the Texans on "Sunday Night Football," Williams attempted to hit Moore on one of his team-high 10 targets on the game, but the pass fell incomplete.
With the play dead, the wide receiver walked to the Bears sideline and appeared to mouth something to Bagent.

It's unclear exactly what Moore was saying, but it sure doesn't appear as though his recollection of what he said and what the visual provides adds up.
MORE: Comparing Caleb Williams and Justin Fields' stats to start Bears career
Even before Williams was an official member of the Bears, Moore took an indirect shot at the 2022 Heisman Trophy recipient. Amid the Fields trade rumors following the 2023 season, the wide receiver was adamant that none of the QBs in the 2024 draft class compare to Fields, who was dealt to the Steelers to pave the way for Williams to be QB1.
It's still incredibly early in the process to jump to conclusions. But it's safe to say it's not the start Williams, Moore or Chicago was hoping for.
DJ Moore stats vs. Texans
- Targets: 10
- Receptions: 6
- Rec. Yards: 53
- Rec. TDs: 0
With Keenan Allen out, Moore was the top weapon for Williams in the passing game. He led the team in targets, receptions and receiving yards in the losing effort.
