The Chicago Bears had a chance to go 2-0 on the young season but failed to do so on Sunday.

The Bears took on the Houston Texans and competed well, but things didn't go their way. Chicago ended up losing to Houston on Sunday, 19-13. Chicago had a chance to win the game, but young phenom Caleb Williams didn't have the best game as he looks to adjust to life in the National Football League.

Chicago could use a boost now to make Williams' life easier. Because of this, Bleacher Report's scouting department mentioned veteran center Connor McGovern as a fit to improve the offensive line.

"Add Now: (center) Connor McGovern," Bleacher Report said. "The Bears have a pretty solid roster overall, but center is one of the few weak spots. The team had a competition for the starting spot between Coleman Shelton and Ryan Bates, and neither is a particularly great option.

"It couldn't hurt to throw one more veteran in the mix on the practice squad, at least. McGovern had a bad year with the Jets in 2023, but he's been a quality starter in the past and would at least give the club someone with 91 career starts to turn to if one of the two guys mentioned above don't step up."

McGovern recently returned to the Jets' practice squad, but that doesn't mean that Chicago couldn't target him. The Bears have some promise but could use a boost on the line.
