What did Cam Taylor-Britt say about Xavier Worthy? Bengals CB throws shade, implies Chiefs WR is one-dimensional
The Chiefs and Bengals are set to face off Sunday in a matchup between two AFC Super Bowl contenders.
Cincinnati cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is getting the mind games going early.
Taylor-Britt was asked about what breakout wide receiver Xavier Worthy brings to Kansas City's offense. The rookie speedster left a major imprint on his first NFL game, scoring two touchdowns on three total touches in the Chiefs' win over the Ravens.
Taylor-Britt wasn't as impressed as the rest of the football world with what he saw from Worthy. Here's what the Bengals defensive back had to say.

What did Cam Taylor-Britt say about Xavier Worthy?
Taylor-Britt was asked about Worthy's instant impact on the Chiefs' offense following the Bengals' practice on Thursday.
He clearly was not blown away by what he saw from Kansas City's rookie receiver in his debut.
"Speed. That's about it. He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight. He can't do too much else, so that's about it," Taylor-Britt said with a straight face.
"Feel like you can put hands on him — he's only 100-something pounds — so you put hands on him you can stop the speed. So basically just put hands on him."
“Speed … He can run straight.”

Worthy's 4.21 40-yard dash was the fastest in NFL history at this past combine. As Taylor-Britt alluded, he is only listed at 5-11, 165 pounds. Taylor-Britt has almost 40 pounds on Worthy, coming in at 5-11, 202 pounds.
As one of the Bengals' starting corners, fans should get a chance to see Taylor-Britt lined up against Worthy on Sunday to see if he can back up his trash talk.

Who is Cam Taylor-Britt?
Taylor-Britt is a 24-year-old cornerback selected by the Bengals in the second round (pick No. 60 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nebraska.
He has started 22 of his 23 games played over three seasons with the Bengals.
Last season, Britt finished with four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and 50 total tackles (40 solo, 10 assisted).
He had seven total tackles and only allowed one reception on two targets in Cincinnati's Week 1 loss to the Patriots, per PFF.
Xavier Worthy stats
- Receptions: 2
- Rec. Yards: 47
- Rec. TDs: 1
- Carries: 1
- Rush Yards: 21
- Rush TDs: 1
Taylor-Britt's comments stem from the fact that although Worthy scored two touchdowns in his debut, he only had two catches and one rushing attempt.
The lightning-fast rookie took a reverse 21 yards to the house on his first career touch. His second touchdown came on a 35-yard go-route against busted coverage in Baltimore's secondary.
Worthy's speed is undeniable and his two scores led the Chiefs to a Week 1 victory, but it will be interesting if he can make the same type of impact with that volume of touches in Week 2.
