NHL Power Rankings: Kings reign supreme after red-hot November
The Kings have rolled to the top of the power rankings with a dominant month of hockey
By Austin Nivison • 1 min readNovember is almost over, and the NHL playoff picture is really starting to take shape now that Thanksgiving is behind us. At the top of that picture are the Los Angeles Kings, the best team in the league right now and the No. 1 team in the updated power rankings.
The Kings have been especially dominant in the month of November, going 8-1-1 and excelling in nearly every aspect of the game. Los Angeles has controlled 59.5% of the expected goals at five-on-five, converted on 25% of its power plays, and killed off 94.1% of its opponents' power plays. It's tough to find a flaw in the Kings' game these days.
Offensively, the Kings are getting contributions from all four lines. Eleven different players have at least four goals, and nine different players have at least 10 points. Defensively, players like Matt Roy and Vladislav Gavrikov have been excellent while Drew Doughty and Mikey Anderson have struggled to get their footing. Perhaps the biggest key to Los Angeles' success is the revitalization of Cam Talbot, who has been brilliant in goal.
With the Kings reigning supreme, here are the updated NHL Power Rankings.
