After being swept by the Toronto Blue Jays and falling below the .500 mark for the first time since August 30, the St. Louis Cardinals return to Busch Stadium for their final homestand of the 2024 season.

At 74-75, they sit seven games back of the third National League Wild Card spot. With 13 games remaining on the schedule, the Cardinals hopes are all but lost.

Benjamin Hochman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweeted a list of changes he believes the Cardinals should make this offseason, and on the list was for President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak to move to a different role.

Mozeliak has been the leader of the Cardinals Baseball Operations department since 2008. During his time at the helm, St. Louis has reached the postseason 11 times, winning six NL Central titles, two NL pennants, and a World Series title.

However, they've fallen on hard times in recent years, and now is the right time for a change. Last offseason, the Cardinals brought Chaim Bloom aboard after the Boston Red Sox had let him go.

Should Mozeliak move to a new role, Bloom is the likely successor. While nothing is certain at the moment, it appears increasingly likely that Mozeliak will hand the reins over to a new face, with Bloom obviously being the favorite.

This offseason is going to be an important one for the Cardinals. Fans have grown tired of Mozeliak and are ready for a new face. We'll see if they decide to shake things up.
