Eagles WR A.J. Brown expects to 'miss a couple of weeks' with hamstring injury
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be without A.J. Brown in Week 3 and beyond after the star wide receiver experienced hamstring tightness while running a route during practice on Friday.
ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters reported during the Monday Night Football broadcast that she spoke with Brown prior to kickoff. Salters said Brown believes he dodged a serious injury but that “he does expect to miss a couple of weeks.”
The Eagles opened Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons with DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson and Britain Covey as the top three wide receivers for quarterback Jalen Hurts. Rookie Johnny Wilson, who was questionable for the game with his own hamstring injury, and veteran practice squad call-up Parris Campbell were both active for the game.
Brown was coming off a productive season debut, leading the Eagles with 10 targets in Week 1 and turning those into five catches for 119 yards and an explosive, 67-yard touchdown reception against the Green Bay Packers.
