Dolphins' Tyreek Hill speaks out about police detainment: I could have been shot if I wasn't famous
Hill dove into what happened across multiple interviews
By John Breech • 3 min readTyreek Hill had a chance to talk about his legal situation Sunday after the Dolphins beat the Jaguars, but he wasn't quite ready to dive into what exactly happened. One day later, Hill decided to tell his side of the story.
The main point the Dolphins receiver made is that he's lucky to be a celebrity. Hill said he knows the situation might have ended with him being shot if he wasn't who he was.
"If I wasn't Tyreek Hill, worst-case scenario, we would have had a different article: 'Tyreek Hill got shot in front of Hard Rock Stadium' … or 'Tyreek Hill put in handcuffs, taken in and booked,'" Hill said in an interview with CNN on Monday night.
During an interview with NBC Nightly News that was broadcast on Monday, Hill said he did his best to comply with the officer who pulled him over a few blocks away from Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning.
