Alabama may have another superstar receiver on its hands.

Crimson Tide freshman Ryan Williams has made a massive impact so far in 2024 despite being young enough to still be a high school senior.

Few freshmen make significant a impact for top-notch college football programs, but Williams has been Alabama's leading receiver through the early season. His rise into the spotlight continued Saturday, when he put up another standout performance vs. Wisconsin.

With his clear star talent at such a young age, Williams is quickly becoming one of college football's biggest names under new Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer.

The Sporting News has you covered on how old Williams is, where he went to high school, his numbers vs. Wisconsin on Saturday and his total stats this season so far.

Williams is 17 years old, making him the youngest player in the FBS, per ESPN's Field Yates.

While Williams was originally slated for the 2025 recruiting class, he reclassified to the Class of 2024 so he could join Alabama for the current season. That decision has paid off, as the teenager hasn't shown his age while leading the way for Crimson Tide's receiving corps.

Williams went to Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama. He was a five-star prospect coming out of high school and was ranked the No. 3 wide receiver in the 2024 class after reclassifying from the 2025 group.

In high school, Williams became the first player to win back-to-back Mr. Football awards from the Alabama Sports Writers Association. He was also the first sophomore to take home the award.

He led Saraland to the 6A state title as a sophomore while posting 88 catches for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. As a junior, Williams' squad lost in the state championship game, but he finished the season with 72 receptions for 1,324 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Williams committed to Alabama in 2022, then decommitted after Nick Saban announced his retirement this offseason. He soon recommitted to the Crimson Tide, setting the stage for his dominance so far in 2024.
