WATCH: Jets RB Breece Hall goes full Garrett Wilson for touchdown vs. Titans
New York Jets' running back Breece Hall did his best Garrett Wilson impersonation during the third quarter against the Tennessee Titans.
Facing a 2nd-and-6 from the Titans' 26-yard line in the opening minutes of the second half, the Jets split Hall out wide to the right of the offensive formation. The dynamic running back was singled up on linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr.
Jets' future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers immediately identified the mismatch and reacted accordingly. Hall ran a go route straight into the end zone and the ball was right there for him to go up and get. Slightly "Mossing" the defender, Hall pulled in a 26-yard scoring strike and looked like a WR1 while doing so.
Hall's first TD reception of the season put New York out to a 14-10 lead with 12:13 left in the third quarter. The Jets' RB1 caught four of his first five targets for 40 yards up until that point in the game.
It was the second touchdown pass of the day by Rodgers, who found rookie running back Braelon Allen for a 12-yard second-quarter scoring play.
The pass-catching element makes Hall more dangerous than an average running back. He made five receptions for 39 yards in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. In 2023, Hall led all NFL running backs with 76 catches.
Hall entered the game as the No. 1 running back option in Week 2 according to Pro Football Focus.
