Most field goals made in an NFL game: Where Austin Seibert ranks on all-time list after seven field goals
The Commanders were unable to put a touchdown on the board in their Sunday matchup against the Giants. Nevertheless, Washington still emerged victorious 21-18 thanks to seven field goals by kicker Austin Seibert in his Washington debut.
With the score tied at 18 and just over two minutes remaining in the game, quarterback Jayden Daniels spearheaded a drive all the way to New York's 12-yard line when Seibert was called on to seal the win. The kicker calmly nailed his final try of the night from 30 yards out as the clock wound down to give Washington its first win of the season.

Throughout the game, Seibert made kicks from 27, 45, 26, 27, 29 and 33 yards out in addition to his final 30-yard try.
His stellar performance calls into question how it would stack up against the league's best. Seven made field goals in one contest is certainly a feat that puts the fourth-year kicker among some of the greatest legs of all time.
Here's everything to know about who has made the most field goals in an NFL game, including where Seibert ranks after his performance against the Giants.

Most field goals in an NFL game
The current record for most field goals in an NFL game is held by Tennessee's Rob Bironas, who converted eight field goals in October 2007 in a 38-36 win over Houston. His longest kick of the night came from 52 yards out. The remaining seven were all under 43 yards.
Seibert, however, slides into second place with his performance on Sunday, tying nine other kickers who achieved the same feat. The 27-year-old is the most recent to have done so since the Jets' Jason Sanders did it against the Dolphins in December 2019. Here's a look at the most efficient single-game kickers of all time.

Who is Austin Seibert?
Seibert signed with the Commanders on Tuesday after the team chose to release Cade York, who missed both of his field goal attempts in Washington's 37-20 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 1. In his professional career, Seibert has hit just over 80% of his 56 career field goal attempts and just over 90% of his extra points.
The Browns selected Seibert out of Oklahoma in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. While with the Sooners, for whom he also punted, the kicker scored a then-NCAA record 499 points in his college career and was named the 2018 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year.
His rookie season with Cleveland wasn't bad at all. Seibert earned the starting spot, converting 30 of 35 extra points and 25 of 29 field goals on his way to being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. However, after missing a field goal and extra point in the Browns' Week 1 loss to Baltimore the following season, Seibert was waived.
One day later he was claimed off waivers by the Bengals and played in four games with them before losing out to Evan McPherson in training camp the next year. Between the 2021 and 2023 seasons, Seibert rotated between the Lions, Jets and Saints before eventually inking a deal with the Commanders on Sept. 10, just two days after the team's opening loss.
