LSU reinstates DB Javien Toviano to team as video voyeurism case remains under review

The sophomore defensive back is back with the Tigers after he was charged in July

LSU cornerback Javien Toviano has been reinstated by the school and is back with the football program after he was charged with video voyeurism in July, LSU coach Brian Kelly said Thursday. Toviano is accused of using a hidden camera -- without his partner's consent -- to record himself having sex.

"He was reinstated on Thursday," Kelly said. "So, he's back in football activities, and we'll kind of get him going again, back in the mix. Obviously, he'll be a competitive player for us -- you know, he played for us last year -- and get him going as he works through his legal matters."

Police found three videos on the sophomore's iPad that corroborated the victim's account, according to an arrest report obtained by WAFB. The videos were allegedly recorded using a clock equipped with a camera, according to the Associated Press. Toviano turned himself into authorities on July 21, and the case remains under review by the East Baton Rouge District Attorney.
