Multiple Raiders, 1 Charger hit with fines for roles in Week 1 fight
The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers saw a fight break out at the end of their Week 1 game last Sunday — and now multiple players are paying for it.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the two main combatants, Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones, were fined $11,255 and $5,472, respectively, for their roles in the melee.
In addition, Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby, defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, and safety Marcus Epps will have to pay $11,255, $11,255 and $11,817, respectively, for getting involved and backing up their teammate.
While the fines were expected, it originally wasn't clear if Jones and Palmer would face a suspension. However, it was reported earlier in the week that neither player was facing that kind of punishment.

The fight broke out near the end of the fourth quarter after the Chargers scored a touchdown and failed on their two-point attempt. Palmer and Jones got into it behind the back of the end zone and it led to their ejection from the game.
The Chargers went on to win the contest, 22-10, to start their season off on the right foot. The Raiders now have a tall task in trying to bounce back on the road against a very good Baltimore Ravens team that can abuse one of Las Vegas' biggest weaknesses, which is its run defense.
The Raiders and Ravens will kick off from M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Chargers draw a road matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
