What did Shedeur Sanders say to Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi? Colorado QB refuses to shake hand of Colorado State QB
Shedeur Sanders continues to make headlines — for all the wrong reasons.
The Colorado quarterback and son of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders ruffled feathers last week during the team's loss to Nebraska when he left the contest with minutes left in regulation. He then did himself no favor by seemingly throwing his offensive line under the bus after he was sacked six times.
This week, Sanders and Colorado got back into the win column with a 28-9 victory over in-state rival Colorado State. The 2025 QB prospect was excellent in the Buffaloes' third game, completing 36 of his 49 pass attempts for 310 yards and four touchdowns. It was his second time in three games he threw for at least 300 yards and had a quarter of passing scores.
However, Sanders' sensational stat line isn't what people are discussing the day after. His antics are once again the major talking point due to a post game incident involving Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.

What did Shedeur Sanders say to Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi?
Following the Buffaloes' victory over the Rams, Sanders and Fowler-Nicolosi had a confrontation in the middle of the field.
During the postgame handshakes, the Colorado State quarterback came up to the Colorado signal caller, looking for a respectful acknowledgement. Sanders wasn't having it, as he pulled his hand back from Fowler-Nicolosi and appeared to tell him, "You can't f— with me."

Sanders reportedly then told the opposing QB that he “cannot” f*ck with him.

It is the latest chapter in a war of words between the two programs that dates back to last season — and Fowler-Nicolosi isn't off the hook, either.
Last year, it was a contentious contest between the in-state rivals, with Colorado State getting its first taste of Colorado in the Coach Prime era. While the Buffaloes entered the game as heavy favorites, the Rams put up a much tougher battle. Eventually Colorado emerged on top 43-35.
Leading up to the game this year, Fowler-Nicolosi took a shot at their foes for their "Instagram followers."

"Yeah, they came out with that attitude and thought it was going to be a cakewalk," Fowler-Nicolosi said of the game last year. "They saw the reports, 27.5 points, or whatever it was, and they got a rude awakening real quick. And I think it goes to show that the hype, the media train, all that, it only gets you so far. At the end of the day, you have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys, and we’ll find out who wants it more, and we’ll see how far Instagram followers gets them."
