It's a fun time to be a fan of the Los Angeles Chargers. The team has started 2-0 for the first time in over a decade and is doing it the way Jim Harbaugh always does... by running the football and playing terrific defense.

The Chargers have outscored their opponents 48-13 in two games and those who run their weekly power rankings are taking notice of the team's efforts. Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News, who put the Chargers in the top 10 last week, nearly has them in the top five this week.

The Chargers come in at No. 6 in the rankings with only the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of them. They are his fifth-best team in the AFC.

Here is what Iyer had to say in his piece:

The Chargers smashed the Raiders and Panthers in similar fashion: Controlling both lines of scrimmage, stopping the run, running the ball, and then teeing off on the pass rush. The influence of Jim Harbaugh is totally back and here to stay. Their 395 combined rushing yards are not a fluke, even when considering the weak opponents.

In Week 3, the Chargers will face one of those teams that are ahead of them on this list, the Steelers. That game will take place in Pittsburgh with the winner getting to 3-0. The Chargers could make a huge statement by going out there and winning that game and would find themselves even higher in the rankings next week.
