Jamal Murray, Nuggets agree to 4-year, $209 million maximum contract extension: Sources
By Shams Charaniaand Jenna WestSep 7, 2024Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets agreed to a four-year, $209 million maximum contract extension, league sources said Saturday, keeping him with the team through 2029.
Murray, 27, is entering the final season of his current five-year deal with Denver and will earn $36 million in the 2024-25 season. With his new deal, the guard will not hit free agency next summer.

Last season, Murray averaged 21.2 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds across 59 regular-season games (all starts). He added averages of 20.6 points and 5.6 assists in 12 playoff games, with the Nuggets’ postseason run ending with a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.
He missed the 2021-22 season with a torn ACL before returning to help star teammate Nikola Jokić lead the Nuggets to the franchise’s NBA title in June 2023.
Murray has spent his entire NBA career with the Nuggets, who drafted him with the No. 7 pick in 2016.
