THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS
The more things change, the more they stay the same.Georgiais No. 1 in the preseason AP Top 25 for the second straight year. The Bulldogs, which also topped the preseason Coaches Poll and the CBS Sports 134, garnered 46 of 62 first-place votes. In fact, the AP and the coaches are in agreement on each of the top seven:
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- Oregon
- Texas
- Alabama
- Ole Miss
- Notre Dame
Ohio State earned 15 first-place votes from the AP, and Oregon took one. Eight of the top nine teams in the AP Top 25 are from the SEC or Big Ten.
As Shehan Jeyarajah notes, all 10 champions in the four-team College Football Playoff era were in the top six of the preseason poll. But with the playoff expanding to 12 teams, Shehan has plenty of buy-low candidates, including ...
