Jets' Final Injury Report: Starting CB downgraded, one of two questionable
The New York Jets could be without starting cornerback DJ Reed when they take the field against the Tennessee Titans on September 15.
The veteran defender popped up on the injury report earlier this week with "knee soreness" and apparently experienced a setback on Friday. Jets' head coach Robert Saleh was expecting Reed to be fully available for Friday's practice, but it turns out the defensive back did not participate.
"Everyone will be full. The only limited player will be Javon Kinlaw," said Saleh prior to practice.
Kinlaw was absent for two days for the birth of his child but returned in a limited capacity and is good to go for the game. Meanwhile, Reed was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday before being downgraded to DNP. He is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC road battle.
After starting all 17 games in 2022, Reed missed two games last October while stuck in concussion protocol. He has been reliable since signing a three-year free-agent contract.
Clemons landed on the injury report Thursday, taking limited practice reps due to a triceps issue. He was upgraded to full participation status one day later.
"He's just dealing with some wear and tear from the game, but we limited him Thursday because it was a full practice, just giving his body a chance to recover, but he'll be full today.
Clemons logged 31 defensive snaps in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. He accounted for two tackles and one sack in the 32-19 setback.
The Titans listed six players on their injury report but all are expected to play on Sunday.
