Liverpool looking to extend San Siro winning record in AC Milan Champions League showdown
Liverpool get their 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign up and running with an eye-catching trip to AC Milan on September 17.
The Reds have enjoyed a strong start under Arne Slot, despite seeing their unbeaten opening to the Premier League season ended by a weekend loss to Nottingham Forest, and a clash at the San Siro will be a major test.
The two clubs are part of the 'European royalty' block with Liverpool winning six UEFA European Cup/Champions League titles and AC Milan on seven.

Liverpool are joint with Bayern Munich on the list with Real Madrid the outright leaders on 15.
Slot will be keen to measure his players against a major European outfit and Liverpool's San Siro record will give him a major confidence boost ahead of the game.
Liverpool's record vs. AC Milan
Liverpool and AC Milan have faced each other in two Champions League finals including the Reds iconic fightback win in Istanbul in 2005 before AC Milan gained revenge with a final win in Athens two years later.
The pair faced each other in the group stages of the 2021/22 tournament, under Jurgen Klopp, with Divock Origi scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory in Milan after a 3-2 home win at Anfield.

Liverpool's overall record at the San Siro is spectacular, with AC Milan ground sharing with rivals Inter Milan, across domestic and European action.
After progressing to the knockout stages of the 2021/22 tournament, Liverpool won home and away against Inter, with a 2-0 victory in Milan.
They also won home and away in the 2007/08 Champions League Round of 16 with a 1-0 victory away in Italy against Inter.
Liverpool have won all three of their Champions League games at the famous stadium, as the only team to play there more than once as a visiting side in the competition's history, and maintain a 100% record.
